The Black Widow/Natasha Romanoff

The seemingly most unloyal S.H.I.E.L.D. Orphaned as a young child in Russia, about to die in the perilous fires of a burning building, she was saved by a strange soviet soldier by the name of Ivan Petrovitch Bezukhov. Ivan watched young Natasha as she grew up. By her early teen years, she was recruited and brainwashed by the Soviet Government, and later trained by a secret ninja cult called the Hand, which transformed her into a cold blooded killer/assassin. Very soon after that she joined a top group of soviet sleeper agents called the Black Widow’s. Later after that, the Soviet government sent her on a mission to steal American technology from the great and praised super genius, Tony Stark. During her stay in America, she met and fell for the handsome and dangerous rebel and archer, Clint Barton aka “Hawkeye”. The relationship between Natasha and Clint soon caused her to sever ties with her soviet agent life and start a new career as an Avenger and top S.H.I.E.L.D agent, working under Nick Fury. However, she did not stay a Avenger for long. Natasha soon renounced her Avenger position just before she was a permanent member. She later then free-lanced between being an assassin and working with other super powered vigilantes, such as Daredevil. Scarlett did a wonderful job giving this character edge, danger, mystery, and an extreme amount of excitement. It will be fun to watch her along with the other Avengers save the day from Loki and his alien army! As secondary of a character as she is, I do still feel she is an important figure in the story arc of the Avengers. The Black Widow will make a nice addition to the film, and hopefully add a nice level of humor and female perspective to the team.
